Joseph Wiegartner

wiegartner josephJoseph Wiegartner attends Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York. In his freshman year, Joseph plans to become a researcher in Biology, likely Neurology or Biochemistry. Although he will not pursue a law enforcement career like his father and sponsor Paul, with the FBI, or a teaching career like his mother; Joseph has learned from his parents that that it’s important for people to give back to society. He hopes to make his own contribution to the public good through a career in medical research.

Joseph is a great admirer of Charles W. Woodward, pioneer of genetics research who made a singular but significant contribution to research methodology. Joseph greatly enjoys competition and knowledge, and has learned much through his active participation with Quizbowl. He has been known to drink hot sauce when feeling peckish.
