Nicole Augustine is in her senior year at Canisius College, in Buffalo, New York. She is a double major in Physical Education & Health Education, with K-12 Dual-Certification. Nicole has been playing field hockey since 6th grade, and has had opportunities to play in the Empire State Games, and multiple sectional and regional championships. As captain and president of her college team, she has worked hard to grow her team, from nine people in her freshman year, to the competitive thirty-person team they are today. Nicole’s long-term goal is to become a health educator and college field hockey coach.
During her senior year of high school, Nicole volunteered in the gym of an elementary physical education teacher. This experience influenced not only her major, but also her life choices. “Public service is not only a great way to give back to the community, but is a way to learn about yourself and the diversity of our society,” she says. Nicole is a huge Buffalo Bills fan.
