Christian Schenkelberg studies Bioinformatics and Molecular Biology at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York. Currently in his senior year, Christian intends to continue his studies at RPI as a graduate student, and to receive a Ph.D. in biology through RPI’s Accelerated B.S./PhD. program, into which he was accepted two years ago. He plans to work in the biotechnology industry.

Christian’s most important extra-curricular group is the RPI Knights of Columbus Council, an international Catholic fraternal organization dedicated to promoting spiritual and civic life. He became interested because his father is a member of the Knights of Columbus. “It has strengthened my spiritual life, and I intend to carry the lessons and values I have learned in the Knights to my work in the future,” he says.
