Sydney Green is a junior at Harvard, Majoring in the history of science, with a focus on medicine and society. Sydney plans to work in the non-profit sector before going on to earn a medical degree and become an OB/Gyn. Her volunteer work as a campus coordinator for the Peer Health Exchange on campus has focused her career goals on finding a way to have a positive impact on teens and their reproductive health.
Sydney believes public service is vital, saying, "It is extremely important for young people to be involved with public service. I believe that is how young people can find their passion; if they are willing to do something for others without being paid, then it must be something that they are passionate about and would excel at in the working world. Moreover, public service allows young people to be active contributors their communities without the stress and uncertainty which usually comes with politics. Finally, the type of personal growth I have experienced while being involved with public service is one which is unmatched elsewhere. It is hard to describe, but I am sure others involved with public service would agree that they would not be the person they are today without that involvement."
