Sarah Watte is a California native, and a freshman at University of Pittsburgh majoring in Civil Engineering, with a focus in structural design. Sarah has some very unique claims to fame. She is a professional artist who has sold her artwork in galleries, and when she was a kid was slimed on Nickelodeon. She has never seen snow fall, and hopes that will change this year, her first year living in Pennsylvania.

Sarah’s childhood dream was to become a Disney Imagineer; however, her high school participation with Mathematics Engineering Science Achievement (MESA) led her to delve deeper into engineering with the Naval Pre-Engineering Academy. She has decided to pursue that field, and can see herself someday working with the Navy, like her father and sponsor, Walter. Sarah can imagine no better career than protecting her country and preserving freedom by working as an engineer. “Someday my generation will have to deal with the repercussions of decisions made today. We should be as involved as possible in public services to prepare ourselves for the day when we are at the wheel of the country.”
