Sean Murphy is a first year student at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, in Minneapolis. Sean plans to study Business Marketing or Business law, and to become a corporate lawyer. He also knows how important it is to him that he continues volunteering within his community, either through his church or a non-profit organization. Sean hopes to work for a fortune 500 company as a lawyer specializing in mergers and acquisitions. This past year, after competing with DECA (Distributive Educational Clubs of America) for several years, Sean made it to State and placed 7th over all in his category. This experience has actively shaped his career choices, and given him experience in Business situations and public speaking.

Sean’s mother inspires his academic success, as the first person in her family to graduate from college. In addition his father David, with Customs and Border Protection, has demonstrated that through hard work and perseverance, anything he sets his mind to can be achieved.
