Savanna Ashbaugh

ashbaugh savannaSavanna Ashbaugh was a three-sport athlete all throughout high school, as well as an honor roll student. Now a freshman at Concordia University in River Forest, IL, she has decided to make her passion her career: she is majoring in Exercise Science. Savanna knows her parents' support has been instrumental in learning the dedication and organizational skills she has needed. “My parents were always in the stands cheering for me,” she says. “And many nights they quizzed me on my homework in the car returning from a late game.”

In high school, Savanna's basketball team sponsored a camp for grade school girls. She received great satisfaction in promoting their enthusiasm for the sport, and realized that she wants to work with kids, and help them feel good about themselves. Savanna wants to instill a healthier lifestyle for people who have obesity problems, teaching exercise and nutrition to help them avoid weight related diseases like diabetes. At Concordia, Savanna is the setter for the volleyball team, and plans to run track in the spring.
