Duyen Hoang learned early on, from volunteer programs in high school, that she truly enjoys helping others. This freshman at Louisiana State University decided to study Kinesiology, in order to help others heal. Her goal is to finish LSU with a bachelor’s in kinesiology, go on to med school to doctor in physical therapy, and one day start her own physical therapy practice. “It is the people that surround me who are the source that drive me to do what I love. Their support, love, and excitement help me to dream big,” says Duyen.

Duyen enjoys creating artwork and spending time with her younger brother, Thien. Her father taught her that she can do anything she sets her mind to; and her mother, a teacher, always urged her to do her best academically. She is grateful to the support of both of her parents for enabling her to create a strong work ethic and drive for success.
