Theodore Garber is a freshman majoring in Government at the University of Texas, in Austin. His aspirations include going to law school and becoming a politician, in order to help people through legislation. “I would love to play just a small role in helping America assist the poorest people in the world”, says Teddy. His role model is his older cousin, who trained to become a member of the US Air Special Forces, and still makes time for his friendship with Teddy. Teddy looks up to his cousin as a kind, brave, and patriotic warrior.
Through his father, Abbey, of the IRS, Teddy has learned that many people do invaluable service for our government, and that respecting their rights as employees should be a big part of any politician’s agenda. “The fact that politicians vary greatly when it comes to their actions regarding public employees has taught me the power of the vote.” Teddy enjoys volunteering to teach chess to local kids at a nearby library, and he also tried out for the college edition of Jeopardy this summer.
