Samantha Simpson‘s hometown is Burleson, Texas.  She is a first year student at Baylor University in Waco, Texas, studying mechanical engineering. Her chemistry teacher, Janice Pyles, inspired her to choose a science-related career, and Samatha hopes that a career in engineering will provide me with the opportunity to travel for job assignments.

Samantha considers public service very important, and intends to apply for engineering jobs within the public sector.  Her mother's job as an attorney with the Social Security Administration and her father's job as an attorney with her county attorney's office have shown her how fulfilling public service jobs can be.  Samantha was a cross country runner all four years of high school.  In addition to her academic pursuits at Baylor University, she is proud of her participation in ROTC, and the physical and mental strength and endurance it demands of her.
