Jeanne Wehde is in her freshman year at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. Currently her major is history, and she may decide to minor in communications. Jeanne looks up to her mother Karen, with the VA, who she says has worked so hard in her life to be where she is, and has supported Jeanne with every decision she has made. Jeanne’s goal is to get her masters degree in Library Science, and hopefully work in a presidential library. Jeanne is also involved in Operation Achievement, through which every Wednesday she mentors a seventh grade girl and help her with her homework.
Her experiences with Operation Achievement, and with Girl Scouts throughout high school, have in fact allowed her to consider the possibility of working with children instead of in a presidential library, possibly in a children’s library. Jeanne is an avid reader herself: “Reading is so fun and a great way to relax after a long day. I love to curl up in my bed, grab a Jane Austen book and read until I fall asleep.”
