Jesse Yang

yang jesseJesse Yang’s goals are to become a physician and health policy adviser, ideally working both in a hospital and in the public health domain.  He is in his third year at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, having graduated from Northwestern University in 2009.  Jesse has a passion for the underserved, and doing what he can to rectify societal inequities.  He takes great pleasure in coordinating a sex-ed program for middle school Baltimore students who desperately need the education.

The tremendous need for basic services has always motivated Jesse, and impacted his desire to make a strong impact on the public health domain in the future.  Jesse feels that society is inherently unfair, and that much of our success is dictated by where and who we were born to.  He believes that those young people who are in a position to serve others are obligated to do so to repay a debt to society.  Jesse proudly enjoys being one of the few people in the hospital under the age of 50 who wears a bow tie.
