Bryce Sperling is an ambitious freshman at the University of Florida in Gainesville, studying engineering and computer science. Education has always been a priority in the Sperling household; as early as kindergarten Bryce was introduced to computers, and he began taking leadership positions in high school. In middle school Bryce began volunteering at the Veterans Administration. He has also earned a junior black belt in karate, and won city and regional championships on his high school wrestling team.
Bryce believes passionately that community service helps young people become aware of problems that face their community, and empowers them to make a difference in others’ lives. Bryce’s motivation to study computer science originated with his mother Renee, who works in Computerized Patient Records System at the VA. “I want to learn all I can about computers and computer science, so that I can create new products and services to help others.”
