Maria Westerfield realized in high school that she thoroughly enjoys meeting and helping different people, and that she can handle the stress of a busy schedule. She played varsity soccer and ran track and cross-country all four years; she also took piano lessons for seven years, and held many student leadership positions. She decided to enter the medical field where she can make a difference in people’s lives, and accept the challenges that career entails. Now a freshman student of Biology at North Georgia College and State University in Dahlonega, GA, Maria plans to attend med school to become a pediatric surgeon.
Maria strongly believes in a national identity of freedom and equality, that allows us to use our human rights for the public service which will benefit our family, friends, and fellow citizens. During the summers she enjoys working on a farm feeding, exercising, and of course riding horses, maintaining the barn and working cows.
