Grady Dye, Jr. Scholarship History
The first meeting of the chapter was held on May 9, 1985, with 35 members present. At that meeting, Grady Dye, Jr. was elected president of the chapter. In August 1986, the Atlanta Area Chapter AIM-IRS received its charter at the Annual Business Meeting and Training Seminar held in Chicago. In May 1990, Grady died unexpectedly. The Grady Dye, Jr. Student Aid Fund was established in 1991; however, the name was later changed to the Grady Dye, Jr. Memorial Scholarship Award. Over the years the chapter has presented numerous scholarships to deserving students.
