AFGE Relief FundThe Fund provides financial assistance in the form of tax-free grants and/or no-interest loans to eligible AFGE members and their families who suffer loss as a result of an emergency or natural disaster causing injury to life or damage to property. Army Corps of Engineers - Relief FundThe Fund provides financial assistance in the form of tax-free grants and/or no-interest loans to eligible Corps employees and their families who have suffered a loss from an uninsured personal crisis, national emergency, or natural disaster causing personal injury or damage to property. Census Bureau FundThe Fund provides financial assistance in the form of tax-free grants and/or no-interest loans to eligible Census Bureau employees and their families who suffer loss as a result of an uninsured personal crisis, emergency, or natural disaster causing injury to life or damage to property. Commerce Employees FundThe Fund was established in 1996, following the crash of Secretary Ron Brown's plane in Croatia. Since that time, the Fund has assisted Commerce employees facing natural disasters or personal hardships as well as the families of several deceased employees. Diplomatic FundThe Fund was set up by the Department of State and the Department of Defense in August 1995 to help the families of three individuals who were killed while on a diplomatic mission in Bosnia. The Federal Diplomatic Family Assistance Fund-Africa (FDFAF-Africa) was added after the 1998 U.S. Embassy bombings in Africa. This education fund will help pay the costs of a college education for the children of the 12 Americans killed in the bombings. A $100,000 grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in December 2004 has increased the funding available for these scholarships. The Fund is also assisting other diplomatic families who have been victims of overseas terrorism. DISA Emergency Relief FundThe DISA Emergency Relief Fund provides financial assistance to DISA employees when they face natural disasters, emergencies or uninsured personal crises that result in injury to life, serious illness, or property damage. Employees can support the Fund by making a donation to FEEA during the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) and further designating their contribution to the DISA Fund. |
