FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT CFC
FAQs
Q. Why should I pledge to FEEA CFC #11185?
A. Because your CFC dollars stay in the federal community, helping civilian federal and postal
employees with scholarships and emergency financial assistance.

Did you know that a large portion of FEEA's annual budget comes from donations made to FEEA
CFC# 11185 during the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) each fall? FEEA counts on the
generosity of federal employees who understand that a pledge to FEEA gives back to the federal
community - to friends, co-workers, and even donors themselves!
Q. Where does the money go?
A. CFC donations have helped support more than $6 million in scholarships over the past 17
years. Each year, we tally the results of CFC efforts across the country and determine how much
is pledged to FEEA from donors in each of our 26 scholarship regions. At least half the money
raised in each region stays in that region, as scholarships!

The remaining funds support FEEA's Emergency Assistance Program across the country and
around the world. CFC donations have enabled FEEA to help federal employees in need when
disaster strikes. From Hurricane Andrew, to Oklahoma City and the Pentagon, to hundreds of feds
facing personal financial difficulties each year, FEEA's CFC donors have helped make more than
$5.5 million in emergency assistance possible.
Q. How much do I need to give to make a difference?
A. Every dollar counts. Even $1 per pay period is a building block for FEEA programs. Imagine
what we could do if just 100,000 feds - less than 4% of the civilian federal workforce - gave FEEA
$26 per year! It would more than triple our annual scholarship budget, resulting in a larger number
of higher value scholarships available to federal employees and their families. Wouldn't that be
great?
Q. How do I make my payroll deduction donation?
A. Just mark your pledge card with FEEA's CFC # 11185 and indicate the amount of your pledge.
Turn in the card before the deadline for your agency, and voilá, you're giving back to FEEA all
year long. Deductions begin with the first full pay period in January and continue throughout the
year. Be sure to fill out your contact information and check the "I want to be acknowledged" box if
you'd like us to know about your gift.   An unchecked box = An anonymous gift.

Anonymous or not, your gift to FEEA CFC# 11185 makes a difference. Thank you!
Q. How do I designate my contribution to a specific FEEA fund?
A. If you would like to designate your CFC pledge to a particular FEEA fund, such as one that
benefits the employees of your particular agency, you must take a few extra steps after filling out
your CFC pledge card.  The general instructions below will work for any FEEA special fund.  For
more information about FEEA's special funds, please visit our
special funds pages.

You will need to:
1. Make a photocopy of your pledge card before turning in the original as instructed by your
keyworker

2. On the copy, write the name of the FEEA special fund to which you wish to contribute and
indicate what amount is designated for that fund (all or part of your FEEA #11185 designation)

3. If you wish, you may block out any/all identifying information on the pledge card copy.  FEEA
needs only the amount designated and the fund you are designating.  If identifying and contact
information are visible, FEEA will send you and acknowledgement for your gift.

4. Mail the pledge card copy, with designation information, to FEEA at 8441 W. Bowles Ave., Suite
200, Littleton, CO  80123-9501.
