- FEEA founded by the leaders of the Senior Executives Association, the National Treasury Employees Union, the National Federation of Federal Employees and the National Council of Social Security Management Associations.

Hurricane Andrew, 1992: FEEA set up shop in Florida and distributed over $40,000 to 499 families of federal employees.
Oklahoma City, 1995: FEEA officials placed a plaque and wreath at the blast site and then provided more than $100,000 in grants and funded a 20-year scholarship program for children who lost a parent in the attack.
Hurricane Katrina, 2005: FEEA provided over $1.8 million to more than 4,000 federal employees who were affected by the massive devastation along the Gulf Coast.
Nationwide, 2010: FEEA more than tripled the rate at which it extends loans to federal employees due to the economic downturn.
As of FEEA's 25 year anniversary in 2011, requests for emergency assistance continue to increase exponentially.

- Bombing of Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, Okla. FEEA provides more than $100,000 in immediate grants and funds a 20-year scholarship program for the more than 200 children who lost a parent.

Aug. 1999
|
- Diplomatic fund established to help the families of three federal employees killed in Bosnia. Fund is expanded to help other federal employees and their families who are the victims of overseas terrorism. In December of 2004, the Fund receives a $100,000 grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to bolster the education fund which assists with the costs of college for the children of 12 Americans killed in embassy bombings in Africa.

- FEEA begins offering administrative services for Childcare Tuition Assistance programs; three agencies sign up the first year.

- Terrorists attack the U.S., 68 civilian federal employees at the Pentagon are killed or injured. FEEA provides over $400,000 in emergency grants and funds an ongoing scholarship pro- gram for the 65 children who lost a parent.

- Supertyphoon Pongsona lashes the island of Guam, destroying homes and knocking out power for weeks. FEEA helps 143 federal employees with grants totaling $52,250.

Fall 2003
|
- Hurricane Isabel strikes the East Coast, while Californians battle record wildfires. FEEA steps in with more than $75,000 in grants to affected families.

Fall 2004
|
- Hurricanes Charley, Frances, Ivan and Jeanne hit Florida and other U.S. coastal areas in rapid succession. FEEA’s Hurricane Fund is activated, eventually providing more than $63,000 to 166 families.

Aug. 2005
|
- Hurricane Katrina causes unprecedented destruction to the U.S. Gulf Coast. Thousands of federal families are displaced for months. FEEA begins issuing grant checks just days after the hurricane strikes and ultimately assists more than 4,000 feds with grants totaling over $1.8 million.

2006

- In its first 20 years, FEEA provided more than $5.5 million in emergency loans and grants, as well as $6.5 million in scholarship assistance, for a total of over $12 million in aid to feds across the country and around the world.

2010

- FEEA more than tripled the rate at which it is extending no-interest loans to federal employees. This increase is directly related to the financial difficulties feds are experiencing in the economic downturn. FEEA has provided more than $1.5 million in emergency no-interest loans to federal employees.

June 2011

- FEEA celebrates 25 years of service to civilian federal and postal employees, and has reached a total of over $7.7 million in emergency financial assistance, and more than $10.2 million in scholarships.

2012

- Summer storms and Hurricane's Issac and Sandy devasted the country. FEEA was there to help feds who were affected with emergency assistance no-interest loans and grants.
